कहा कि प्रदेश सरकार ने वाइन पर आयात शुल्क को सात रुपये से घटाकर दो रुपये प्रति बोतल कर दिया गया है. अब राज्य में शराब बनाने का कारखाना स्थापित करना भी आसान होगा... इसके लिए पहले जो लाइसेंस फीस 15 लाख रुपये लगती थी, उसे घटाकर मात्र एक लाख रुपये कर दिया गया है। आयातित विदेशी शराब पर वैट 10 प्रतिशत से घटाकर तीन प्रतिशत और देशी शराब, वाइन, बीयर और आइएमएफएल पर 13 व 14 प्रतिशत से घटाकर 12 प्रतिशत किया गया है।
कहा कि सरकार के इस कदम से शराब को बढ़ावा मिलेगा। सरकार ने इससे पहले शराब पीने की कानूनन उम्र 25 साल से घटाकर 21 साल कर दी थी. सरकार के इन कदमों से साफ़ है कि वह प्रदेश में नशाखोरी को बढ़ावा देना चाहती है... जिस उम्र में युवाओं को रोजगार के अवसर मिलने चाहिए, उसमें भाजपा-जजपा गठबंधन सरकार उन्हें शराब की बोतल थमाना चाहती है। प्रदेश के युवाओं को आज उच्च शिक्षा या फिर रोजगार की जरूरत है, जिसका इंतजाम करने में प्रदेश सरकार पूरी तरह नाकाम रही है।
सैलजा ने कहा कि पेट्रोल-डीजल के दाम आसमान छू रहे हैं. प्रदेश सरकार ने बिजली के दाम भी बढ़ा दिए। टोल की दरें भी बढ़ा दी गई हैं... शनिवार को ही रसोई गैस सिलेंडर के दामों में 50 रुपयों की बढ़ोतरी हो गई। आज हर चीज महंगी हो गई है। हर तरफ तेजी से बढ़ती मंहगाई से हाहाकार मचा हुआ है। मगर सरकार का महंगाई कम करने की तरफ कोई ध्यान नहीं है। सरकार का ध्यान शराब को बढ़ावा देने की तरफ है।

Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Kumari Selja today strongly condemned the new Excise Policy of the Haryana Government. She said that the people of the state were suffering from inflation and they were demanding to reduce the tax on petrol and diesel and make other things cheaper, but the government did not paid attention to it. Instead of taking steps to reduce inflation, the government had shown its priority by making liquor cheaper.
In a statement issued here, Kumari Selja said that the state government had reduced the import duty on wine from Rs 7 to Rs 2 per bottle. Now, it will also be easy to set up a liquor factory in the state. For this, the license fee, which was earlier Rs 15 lakh, had now been reduced to only Rs one lakh. VAT on imported foreign liquor had been reduced from 10 percent to three percent and from 13 and 14 percent to 12 percent on country liquor, wine, beer and IMFL.
Kumari Selja said that this move of the government would encourage alcoholism. The government had earlier reduced the legal drinking age from 25 years to 21 years. It was clear from these steps of the government that it wanted to promote drug abuse in the state. At the age when youth should get employment opportunities, the BJP-JJP alliance government wanted to hand them a bottle of liquor. Today, the youth of the state need higher education or employment, for which the state government had completely failed to make arrangements, said Kumari Selja.
She said that the prices of petrol and diesel were too high. The state government had also increased the cost of electricity. Toll rates had also been increased. On Saturday itself, the price of LPG was increased by Rs 50. Today, everything had become expensive. Everywhere there was an outcry due to the rapidly rising inflation. But the government was not paying any attention to reduce inflation. The focus of the government was towards promoting alcohol, she added.
Kumari Selja said that due to wrong policies of the government, Haryana ranked first in the country in terms of unemployment and every third graduate of the state was unemployed. Inflation was also breaking all records in the state. Cases of continuous paper leaks and selling jobs were destroying the dream of government job of hardworking youth, said Kumari Selja.
She said that BJP had always adopted a dual character. On the one hand, the state government promotes to run a campaign to eliminate drugs, on the other hand, it wanted to give liquor to people of the state through its own policies. It was clear from this that the government wanted to make the youth drunk so that they cannot raise voice for their rights, added Kumari Selja.
सैलजा ने कहा कि भाजपा हमेशा से दोहरा चरित्र अपनाती आई है. एक तरफ प्रदेश सरकार नशे को खत्म करने के लिए अभियान चलाने का प्रचार करती है... दूसरी ओर खुद ही अपनी नीतियों से प्रदेशवासियों को शराब थमाना चाहती है। इससे साफ है कि सरकार युवाओं को नशे में चूर करना चाहती है, ताकि वे अपने हक के लिए आवाज न उठा सकें।
