हिसार में पत्रकारों के सवाल के जवाब में उप-मुख्यमंत्री ने तमाम कयासों पर विराम लगाते हुए कहा कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर हिसार एयरपोर्ट का विकास किया जा रहा है। हिसार एयरपोर्ट का निर्माणाधीन रनवे 10 हजार फुट का है, जो कि अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा के अनुरूप है।
पिछले डेढ़ वर्ष में रनवे का 90 प्रतिशत कार्य पूर्ण कर लिया गया। मार्च 2023 में यह रनवे तैयार हो जाएगा। इस रनवे के साथ-साथ टैक्सी स्टैंड और 23 मीटर चौड़ा टैक्सी-वे, पार्किंग स्टैंड, फायर स्टेशन का निर्माण भी इंटरनेशनल मानकों के हिसाब से किया जा रहा है।
अत्याधुनिक तकनीक वाली लाइट जिससे रात में भी हवाई जहाज लैंड कर सकते हैं तथा लेटेस्ट टेक्निक वाला एयर ट्रैफिक कंट्रोल सिस्टम लगाया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि दुनिया भर में इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट पर हवाई पट्टीओं की लंबाई 9 हजार से लेकर 12 हजार फीट तक है, और हिसार के हवाई पट्टी की लंबाई 10 हजार है।
7200 एकड़ में हिसार में हरियाणा का पहला बड़ा एयरपोर्ट बन रहा है। उप-मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि द्वितीय चरण का निर्माण होने के बाद एयरपोर्ट के टर्मिनल और एप्रन का निर्माण भी इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट के स्टैंडर्ड के लिहाज से किया जाना है।
उप-मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट बनाने के लिए सबसे पहले इंटरनेशनल स्टैंडर्ड के हिसाब से आधारभूत ढाँचा तैयार करना पहली शर्त है, जिस पर हरियाणा सरकार तेजी से काम कर रही है। हिसार में इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट नहीं, बल्कि एविएशन हब बन कर रहेगा।

उन्होंने कहा कि लगभग 7200 एकड़ भूमि में एयरपोर्ट विकसित होगा। 3000 एकड़ में मैन्युफैक्चरिंग हब विकसित करने के लिए जल्द कार्य शुरू किया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि अमृतसर से लेकर जयपुर तक के सभी यात्रियों के लिए यह एयरपोर्ट लाभकारी सिद्ध होगा। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली और नॉर्थ इंडिया की कनेक्टिविटी हिसार में चंडीगढ़ से बेहतर है।

Haryana's first major airport is being built in Hisar on 7200 acres. दुष्यंत चौटाला ने कहा कि पांच साल के बाद केंद्र सरकार जरूर लिखकर देगी कि हिसार एयरपोर्ट फंक्शनिंग में है और अब इसे इंटरनेशनल स्टैंडर्ड की ओर बढ़ा रहे हैं। आईजीआई एयरपोर्ट बनने के बाद फ्लाइट कनेक्टिविटी बेहतर करने के लिए 10 साल लग गए थे।
आगरा एयरपोर्ट पर इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट लिखा जाता है लेकिन केवल एक फ्लाइट आती है। इसी तरह चंडीगढ़ एयरपोर्ट पर हफ्ते में छह फ्लाइट आती है। उप-मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि हिसार एयरपोर्ट निर्माण के लिए केंद्र सरकार से हमारा समझौता हो चुका है।
