𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 '𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚- 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬’, 𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐮.
Prior to this, in the
year 2017, tableau of Haryana on the theme of 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' was
selected.
It is a matter of great privilege and honour that sportspersons
from Haryana, a state with only 1.3 percent geographical area and 2.09 percent
population of the country, have participated in many national and international
sports competitions, including the prestigious Olympic Games and brought
laurels to the country.
Out of a total of 07
medals won by India in Tokyo Olympics-2020, Haryana sportspersons won 04
medals, including the lone gold medal in individual category. As a token of
honour, the Haryana Government honoured the sportspersons of the state who
participated in the Tokyo Olympics with a cash prize of Rs 25.40 crore.
Similarly, the sportspersons of Haryana, who brought laurels to the country in
Tokyo Paralympics 2020, were also honoured with cash prizes of Rs 28.15 crore.
Besides Tokyo
Olympics and Tokyo Paralympics -2020, the sportspersons of Haryana won 04
medals out of a total of 06 medals won by India in Olympic- 2012 and one medal
out of India’s two medals in Olympic- 2016. Likewise, in Asiad- 2018, Haryana
sportspersons won 17 medals out of India’s total medal tally of 69 medals and
won 21 medals out of a total of 57 medals won by India in Asiad- 2012.
Not only this, the
Haryana sportspersons performed extremely well and won 20 and 22 medals in
Common Wealth Games of 2014 and 2018 respectively.
Haryana government is
honouring its sportspersons with cash awards and also providing them with best
sports infrastructure in order to motivate them to give their best performance,
so that the youth can exhibit their hidden sports talent. It goes without
saying that the sports infrastructure, cash awards and other facilities are
unparalleled and the best in the country, which has generated new enthusiasm
for sports among sportspersons of the state.
In addition to conserve the rich cultural heritage of India, the
Vedic land of Haryana has produced and given outstanding sportspersons like
Kapil Dev, Neeraj Chopra, Rani Rampal, Sakshi Malik, Yogeshwar Dutt and many
other players to the country. The tableau of Haryana depicting outstanding
sports performance of the country, will not only be a source of inspiration for
other states but also will be witness to achievements of this small state,
Haryana, which has crossed a long distance of development in all the fields.
The Haryana Tableau
is divided in two parts, the front part consists of horses and a conch. The
horses pulling the chariot symbolize ‘Vijay Rath’ from the Mahabharata. The
conch placed here is a symbol of Lord Krishna's conch shell. The second part of
the tableau is divided into four parts. In the first part, in the arena built
on the lines of the Olympic games, two wrestlers are seen giving demonstration
of wrestling bout on the mat. On the rear two parts, 10 famous sportspersons of
Haryana of international level will be seen standing.
On the posterior side of the tableau, a life-size replica of
Olympian Neeraj Chopra in javelin throwing posture will be there. On both sides
of the Tableau, the activities of sportspersons from selected sports of Haryana
like Boxing, Weight-lifting, Shooting, Discus-Throw and Hockey have been
depicted in high relief.

Department, Haryana, Dr. Kuldeep Saini along with sportspersons Bajrang Punia,
Rani Rampal, Yogeshwar Dutt, Mamta Kharb, Sumit Antil, Deepak Punia, Harvinder,
Yogesh Kathuniya, Rampal, Ranjeet, Ashu Wrestling and Anil Wrestling will be on
the tableau.
