मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल ने इस घोषणा के लिए समस्त हरियाणा वासियों की ओर से गृहमंत्री का आभार प्रकट किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि हरियाणा विधानसभा के लिए नए अतिरिक्त भवन के लिए भूमि की पहचान कर ली गई है। अब गृहमंत्री की घोषणा के बाद जल्द ही इसका काम शुरू हो पाएगा।
दरअसल वर्ष 2026 में नया परिसीमन प्रस्तावित है, जिसके आधार पर वर्ष 2029 में लोकसभा व विधानसभा चुनाव होंगे। अनुमान है कि नये परिसीमन में हरियाणा की जनसंख्या के अनुसार विधानसभा क्षेत्रों की संख्या 126 तथा लोकसभा क्षेत्रों की संख्या 14 होगी।
हरियाणा विधानसभा में इस समय 90 विधायक हैं। मौजूदा भवन में इन 90 विधायकों के बैठने के लिए भी पर्याप्त स्थान उपलब्ध नहीं है। यही नहीं, इस भवन का विस्तार किया जाना भी संभव नहीं है, क्योंकि यह हैरीटेज बिल्डिंग है।
मौजूदा भवन में भी हरियाणा को लगभग 56 साल बीत जाने के बाद भी पूरा हक नहीं मिला है। विधानसभा भवन में 24,630 वर्ग फुट क्षेत्र हरियाणा विधानसभा सचिवालय को दिया गया था। लेकिन हरियाणा के हिस्से में आए 20 कमरे अभी भी पंजाब विधानसभा के कब्जे में हैं। ऐसे में कर्मचारियों के साथ-साथ विधायकों, मंत्रियों और समितियों की बैठक के लिए पर्याप्त स्थान की कमी आड़े आ रही है।

The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah while presiding over the 30th meeting of the Northern Zonal Council meeting announced that land would be given in Chandigarh for the additional Vidhan Sabha building of Haryana.
After the announcement, Manohar Lal on behalf of all the people of Haryana has expressed gratitude to the Home Minister.
The Chief Minister said that land has been identified for new additional building for Haryana Vidhan Sabha. Now after the announcement of the Home Minister, the work on the same will start soon.
A new delimitation is proposed in the year 2026, based on which Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections will be held in the year 2029. It is estimated that as per the population size of Haryana in the new delimitation, the number of Assembly Constituencies will be 126 and the number of Lok Sabha constituencies will be 14.
The Chief Minister said that presently, there are 90 MLAs in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha. There is not enough space available in the existing building to even accommodate these 90 MLAs. Not only this, but it is also not possible to expand this building, because it is a heritage building, added Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that even after a lapse of almost 56 years, Haryana has not got the full right in the existing building.
He informed that the 24,630 square feet area in the Vidhan Sabha building was given to the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. But the 20 rooms that came under Haryana's share are still in the possession of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. In such a situation, there is a lack of adequate space for the meeting of MLAs, Ministers and Committees along with the employees, he added
